THE SMALL PRINT
Terms of Use.
Last updated 30 October 2026
By using ReelScale you agree to these terms. They're short, and they exist to keep the scores honest and useful for everyone.
The service
ReelScale is a free website run by Darren DeBattista, Malta. It shows how films score in categories such as scary, funny or violent, based on votes from its users.
Your account
- You must be 16 or older to create an account.
- One account per person. Keep your password to yourself; you're responsible for what's done with your account.
- You can delete your account at any time from your Account page.
Voting fairly
Scores only work if they're honest. Please only score films you've actually seen, and score how the film is, not whether you liked it. You must not:
- create several accounts, or use bots or scripts, to vote;
- organise coordinated voting to push a film's scores up or down;
- try to break, overload or get around the site's security.
We may remove votes, or suspend or delete accounts, that break these rules.
About the scores
Scores are opinions from our community, and new films start with estimates until enough people have voted. They're a guide, not a guarantee. In particular, don't rely on them alone when choosing what children watch.
Film information
Film titles, posters, cast and descriptions come from TMDB. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. All film images and names belong to their owners.
No guarantees
ReelScale is provided as it is, free of charge. We do our best to keep it running and accurate, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for losses that come from using the site. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under Maltese or EU law.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. These terms are governed by the laws of Malta. Questions? Email contact@reelscale.app.
